Brew York was founded by two friends whose shared passion — or as some might say, obsession — for great beer inspired them to turn their dream into reality. They set out to create a brewery in the heart of York where the experience and setting are as memorable as the beer itself. Located within York’s historic city walls on Walmgate, the original brewery features a unique taproom with a riverside beer garden, a 200-seat Beer Hall with over 40 taps, and an in-house kitchen serving some of the city’s best food. It’s a vibrant community hub that celebrates craft beer, good food, and local culture through regular events, collaborations, and festivals.

Today, Brew York produces beer in cask, keg, and can, distributing across the UK and internationally. In 2021, they completed their state-of-the-art brewery on the outskirts of York, featuring twin 50hl brewhouses and over 1,000hl of fermentation and conditioning capacity — allowing them to expand production and explore new export markets. The original city centre brewery remains a creative playground for experimental brews, barrel ageing, and spontaneous fermentation projects. Whether it’s a flagship classic or an innovative one-off, every Brew York beer is crafted with quality, curiosity, and community in mind.
